From Stresa beach you can reach and visit the splendid Isola Madre, Isola Bella and Isola Pescatori.
Hills and Mountains
On the hill around Stresa is the Botanic Garden Alpinia of a great naturalistic interest. By the chairlift you can arrive to the summit of Mottarone (1491m).
Fortress of Angera
The Angera Rocca by car 14km, then by boat Arona-Angera. A medieval fortress from which it's possible to enjoy a wonderful sight of the lake and the little town of Arona inside La Rocca is the museum of the Dolls and Toys.
Eremo of Santa Caterina
Eremo (monastery) of Santa Caterina (by car 28 km and by boat Arona_Stresa_Eremo di St. Caterina). A monastery built on a cliff on the lake, a striking and fascinating view, a real balcony on the Borromeo Islands.
